“Science. Art. Film.” is back in 2024!

Screening monthly for FREE at Arc Cinema, “Science. Art. Film.” is a series that uncovers the wacky, weird and wonderful facets of science and art in films.

On Wednesday, 28 February, 6 pm, our “Science. Art. Film.” series will kick off the year with a screening and discussion of Spielberg’s classic JAWS. After the film, Professor Kenneth Lampl from the ANU School of Music – a student of John Williams (the creator of the cult film’s soundtrack!) – and marine biologist Dr Hannah Calich, a shark expert, will join the panel to discuss the representation and study of sharks. Discover the extent to which this film has influenced the public perception of sharks and what it teaches us about the cultural power of popular films!

You can book your seats (free) here.Find out more about the series here.
